Valentine's Day

I warned everyone that I might not be very good at keeping this thing up to date, but that is mostly because #1 - we don't have much going on in our lives right now, and #2 - we don't have a workable camera that isn't part of a cell phone. This makes it hard to document our lives at the moment. However, I do have to tell everyone about my fantastic Valentine's morning. So Jeff and I decided that we had a $10 limit for Valentine's this year, this pretty much limited what we could get each other to a card and a candy bar. Well I went to bed last night after I had reaffirmed with Jeff that he had not spent more than his limit. He assured me that he hadn't done "much" for today. Well I woke up this morning and I could see a red note taped to our bedroom door, so I got a little suspicious. I crawled out of bed (late of course) and started to walk down the hall towards to kitchen. The whole entire apartment was covered in paper hearts, each one he had written on it some reason why he loved me. It honestly takes a lot to surprise me, but man he did a good job this morning. He would kill me if he knew I was posting these pictures and telling this story, but he is just such an amazing husband! Anyway, I am hoping that is the extent of his Valentine's Day because it is already leaving me looking incredible inadequate with my card and my candy bar, but knowing Jeff I am sure this is not over yet...

These are the hearts all over my house... taken with my cell phone, so they are not that great

And in case anyone was wondering about my tulips, this is what they look like now... after only two weeks and in the middle of winter :)

Tulips

So I was at Costco on Monday and I noticed that they had something called Long Life Tulips that are made to grow inside. I was really excited, because since I don't currently have any place to plant flowers, and everywhere I look is covered with snow it might be fun to have a piece of early spring. So I bought them hoping that maybe this time I can keep them alive. I currently have them sitting on my desk at work, but once we move I will take them home and put them on a table somewhere, if they are still alive. I just thought I would post a picture of how fast they are growing. When I bought them on Monday they were simply bulbs floating in water, now they are several inches tall. At this rate they should be in full bloom in a few weeks!

This is what mine look like now, after three days

This is what they are supposed to look like in 28 - 36 days:

Crazy Snow!

So for those of you who no longer reside in Utah, today is one day when I am jealous. We have been hearing rumors of a big snow storm that is supposed to visit us anyday, and today it came. Wow, its crazy!! I was almost blown over just walking from my office to the car for lunch. All in all I guess it is a good thing so we can have some moisture this summer, but it is still really annoying for those of us who have to commute to work.

Just a side note, only 46 days until we get to move into our new place. I can hardly wait, once we get a better camera I will have to post pictures. :)

Lets try this out...

So, I was noticing today that I often check the blogs of friends of ours that have moved away, so I know all about what is going on in their lives, but I am really bad at keeping people updated about our lives... So, to attempt to remedy that problem I have decided to try this blog idea. I warn you that our lives aren't super exciting, but I will do my best :)
